We apologize if you are looking for any of the services listed. Very recently, Left Hand Publishers has decided to separate its service offerings. LHP no longer offers editing, cover design, web marketing, or graphic design. It was just too confusing for prospective authors. We have spun those services off to our sister-site: WritehandServices.com. All we do is publish books, collections of short stories, and e-books. At this time, the services NOT offered are:
- Publish Non-Fiction – the graphics, diagrams, and illustrations are not cost effective at this time. This may change in the future.
- Provide Training – we publish and offer Optional Services. We do not train individuals on how to do those themselves. You may pick up some knowledge from our remarks and edits strictly through osmosis, but we do not offer formal training. There are plenty of college courses you can take to that effect.
- Publish Non-Quality Books – Our Editor in Chief has the final say. While many of the factors are logically objective, the last word may be quite subjective. If the Editor in Chief feels that this is not a quality book, Left-Hand Publishers will not publish it because we are staking our reputation on what comes from our imprint. Also, publishing sub-standard books will hurt the author’s reputation and book sales both now and in the future. We will discuss it with you and see if we can help you in any way, but ultimately, we do not publish mediocre titles.
- Guarantee Sales or Profits – There are too many factors to make guarantees: buyer trends, quality of writing, book cover design, price points, formatting, venues, technology, etc.
- Publish Short Novellas – we have opted to not publish books that are less than 40,000 words as the pricing is too competitive, costs are too high, and the author won’t make any money. We may look at those for e-book publication, but not print.

Left Hand Publishers is NOT a vanity press. We will never ask the writer for an investment or to pay any part of the cost of being published. We provide our publishing services as a percentage of revenue which we participate in, once the work sells. Optional Services are available to writers who need assistance in getting their manuscripts and/or their marketing tools honed for a successful and profitable publishing experience.
