Paul MetheneyDon’t “ABS” (Always Be Selling) your #book – reply, retweet, discuss, share, recommend, ask – automated tools don’t do this

Make all of your #SocialMedia handles, imagery, banners, & style consistent = more easily remembered brand

Customize #SocialMedia look & feel to match your #authorbrand: banners, css, fonts, graphics (Photoshop), writing style, tone

Follow #authors, #publishers, #editors that match your brand’s interests i.e. genre, writing, short stories, etc. #bookmarketing

Follow #authors, #publishers, #editors that have a high follower count = thousands seeing your retweets, replies, etc. #bookmarketing

Post consistently & often. Most platforms reward you for #SocialMedia activity, algorithms boost more popular posts #bookmarketing

Consistency helps as well. Also encourages possible fans to follow & engage w/ you. #authorbranding #bookmarketing

Do NOT just use when you have a book to sell. Be active & engaging in #SocialMedia all the time. #authorbranding #bookmarketing

Dedicated Effort – Some successful writers are spending 3 hrs/nt on #SocialMedia, #marketing, hiring interns #authorbranding #bookmarketing

Focus your posts/discussions on subjects, movies, #books, #authors adjacent to your brand #authorbranding #bookmarketing

@GailZMartin writes urban fantasy, epic fantasy, etc. She posts #SocialMedia & guest blogs re: TV show #Supernatural #authorbranding

Don’t get too far afield w/ #SocialMedia topics-avoid politics, religion, etc. #authorbranding #bookmarketing

Use #SocialMedia, #blog, & #website to capture email addresses w/ offers of giveaways #authorbranding #bookmarketing

#Email #newsletters – send out to your various lists to keep them engaged #authorbranding #bookmarketing

#Email #newsletters – notify lists of upcoming events, new books, release parties, & educate, entertain #authorbranding #bookmarketing

#SocialMedia is slow to garner followers, but free. #SocialMedia also has a very high ROI in $ #authorbranding #bookmarketing
